The department of English was established with the birth of the institute in 2007. The objective of the Department of English is to acquaint students with contemporary trends in English literature, language and improve their basic grammar skills. It aims at creating holistic, analytical and critical perspectives and facilitates students’ active and positive participation and contribution to the society. Particular attention is given to groom the students by organizing student seminars and presentations from time to time. The department follows the guidelines and syllabus prescribed by HP University, Shimla. The central objective of this programme is to enrich our students with communication and reading skills in English and it acts as a guide to those who want to explore the world of literature.
- To develop in the students a sensibility for English language and literature by teaching them the prescribed syllabus.
- To help students in removing the obstacles to learning the English language.
- To motivate the students to improve their English grammar, vocabulary, expression and spoken English.
- To make the department and the classroom a hub for academic activity where their potential may be channelized into the right direction so that their personality could be developed.
